In terms of its original Business Plan, STLTA was tasked with purchasing buildings throughout KZN for use as offices for the regional taxi structures in the province. STLTA currently owns 13 such buildings – 11 regional offices, a provincial office for SANTACO-KZN and an office for itself.

These offices have provided the taxi industry with a platform that did not exist previously and have given the industry the capacity to use these offices as business bases as well as a venue for training in the different regions.

These offices are owned by STLTA and made available to the regional Santaco structures on a cost recovery basis.

In the case of the Santaco offices, STLTA also pays all the operating expenses for these offices and then recovers these expenses from the KZN Department of Transport on a monthly basis. STLTA has, in addition, completed a major office upgrade project to create a 50sq/m board/training room at each of the offices.
